Обе позиции об одном и том же, must have skills ниже. Первая - для джуниора, а вторая для синиор девелопера.

Must Have Qualifications:

• Extensive Object Oriented design and Java development experience (JAVA, JSP)
• Experience with web based technologies and protocols (HTML, Javascript, XML, XSLT, SOAP)
• Experience with designing a large-scale, real-time, business critical systems
• Solid system architecture skills (especially 3/N-Tier applications)
• Experience in Database design and database programming (Sybase / DB2 ideally)
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and work with them to meet business requirements
• Strong team working ability in local and global teams
• Experience with large UNIX server platform (production) environments a must
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Client facing experience
• Completion of a technology focused college diploma or post-graduate technology program

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing on-call support/pager rotation support
• Knowledge of market data and Financial Services (ideally Capital Markets) products experience
• Scripting experience is an asset ( i.e. Perl,Ksh)
• Knowledge and experience with writing/tuning SQL is highly preferred
• Design experience
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
• Experience with Tomcat and Apache
• Awareness of Json, cxf, dozer
• Knowledge and recognition of basic design patterns
• Experience using Eclipse
• UNIX/Linux scripting
• Experience building financial systems
• Work experience and/or familiarity with the Capital Markets space

One of our financial clients located in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Java Developer for an initial six month contract. The Java Developer will be responsible for overall design, development and team coordination on the business system/application. They will be responsible to communicate standards and defend technology and scoping decisions to information technology management and development teams. Below I have included more details.

Key Accountabilities
- Architect, design and implement solutions that meet the stakeholder’s needs
- Participate actively in requirements gathering, data modeling and design sessions
- Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for the projects in accordance with PLC, security and architecture documentation objectives
- Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project
- Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity
- Write, test and maintain detailed programs according to specifications given by computer software engineers and systems analysts
- Provide input and coordinates with Database Analyst in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases
- Conceive, design and test logical structures for solving technical problems
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans
- Perform performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions
- Provides consulting services on new and existing initiatives

А почему фултайм плохо? Платят меньше?

А почему фултайм плохо? Платят меньше?

Фуллтайм - хорошо из-за некой (хотя и достаточно иллюзорной) стабильности, оплачиваемого отпуска и бенефитов,
а контракт - немного побольше по деньгам, плюс списывать можно расходы в гораздо большей степени, т.е. в целом налогов платишь поменьше, но зато часто приходится искать новый контракт, т.к. они обычно ограничены по времени.

В дополнение к выше сказанному "плохо" относилось к конкретной ситуации, когда вы состоите в штате в одной конторе, а работаете - в другой на сабконтракте.
