А как насчет того, что Ваши дети ходили в эту школу или дети знакомых? И, я не очень разбираюсь, но мне кажется, что ребенок 13 лет - это еще не high school или я не прав?
I didn't go to Haig. But everyone in North York knew that it was The top school. One of my relatives is a teacher in Toronto, and this person says that Haig is still the top school.
A 13 year old is going to attend a middle school. In Canada, there is no actual teaching taking place in elementary and middle schools. Those schools are there to:
a) babysit the kids,
b) teach them random "fun facts",
c) have the kids "teach" each other and the teachers (as they share their "uneducated opinion" with the others),
d) give the kids an opportunity to participate in some kindergarten activities
e) brainwash the kids with some Leftist ideas.
The only way one can compare middle schools, is by looking at whether the kid is going to be safe there. It is not difficult to find a middle school in Toronto where the kid will feel safe.
I have seen studies that showed that, in general, the quality of the high school that one attends doesn't seem to influence one's performace at the university.
