The QA Analyst is responsible for maintaining software quality. The QA analyst must work with the QA Manager and business analyst to understand the business requirements, formulate test conditions and develop and execute a test plan.
You will be responsible to assist, organize and lead test planning, preparation, execution and reporting of all QA activities. You will automate and execute functional, exploratory and regression tests and will be responsible to organize and maintain QA records including but not limited to: test schedules, plans, test scripts, test cases, bug reports and test metrics. You will work with the product development team to ensure that QA is an integrated part of the development process. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet high Quality Assurance standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must have:
• Degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years in QA
• 1+ years experience with automating test environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about Quality and Quality Assurance
• Experience in setting up test environment for data driven web applications
• In depth knowledge of writing effective test cases and doing exploratory testing
• Solid understanding of QA principles and the software development life cycle
• Solid understanding of black box testing
• Excellent teamwork skills
Nice to have:
• Automation experience - JUnit, load testing, Canoo WebTest, Selenium
• HTML, JAVASCRIPT, JAVA
• JBOSS, TOMCAT, Jetty, WebSphere, Weblogic
• MSSQL, Oracle
• Web application testing on Pocket PC, Palm OS, and or Blackberry Devices
• Knowledge of CVS / SVN or related version control systems
Accountability
The QA Analyst must be comfortable suggesting new test cases and improvements to the quality assurance methods, processes and standards. The success and failure of the QA Analyst in achieving his/her goals is highly related to teamwork skills, commitment to deliverables and passion for creating high quality software products.
Reporting
This position reports to the QA Manager
