I think a good analogy is

Q: What is our ultimate goal?
A: Become rich?

It is funny because that answer is Obvious, but at the same time it is not informative. The person who asked the question was looking for a non-trivial answer such as "get a patent for X", or "investigate the possibility Y".

The phrase "find a cure" is also funny because it is a cliche, almost like the phrase "save the world".

So another good analogy is

American Politician: What is our ultimate goal?
Obama: Save the world!

If Zero/Odumba were to say this, people would definitely laugh. They would not be laughing because they know that this is not the goal.

Let's not get into the complicated topic of the causes of the Great Depression. (Ok, I would like to mention one thing. I read about studies that found that the pre-crash prices reflected true values. Think about it - we are still using the technology developed at the turn of the century [cars, electric appliances, etc].)

The fact that sometimes cars break down or are involved in accidents does not imply that we should stop driving cars. In other words, you are focusing on the costs (the rare crashes), without looking at the benefits (higher standards of living, and faster economic growth). For an example, compare the standard of living in North Kora vs. South Korea and in East Germany vs. West Germany.

...Изначально много был наслышан про иммигрантов в США, которые с бывшего СССР выехали. Зачем? Не ну я конечно употребил пару слов на f, но исключительно для связи слов в предложениях, в остальном я был образцом сдержанности Я по-канадски полицию вызвал, они ниче особо не сделали, но факт проишествия зафиксировали, надеюсь этого хватит.
