> Ну здесь шприцы раздают наркотам в Ванкувере. И обеспечивают условия для принятия дозы за счет налогоплатильщиков.
True. And in some Vancouver neighbourhoods they sell drugs so openly that one rock musician is quoted to say that he couldn't believe that he was in North America (I read this in wikipedia, but I don't have time to find the link now).
But the important thing is that there are neighbourhoods where it is not like this, and if you don't go to certain neighbourhoods you will never see it.
> Марихуана здесь просто курево и домашнее растение как помидоры для многих.
I have never met anyone like that. But of course I realize these people exist. In certain neighbourhoods.
> Таблетки и прочая дрянь на парковках у плаз и ночью на детских площадках
Haven't seen it.

I spent many, many years at Canadian schools and universities. I have never seen anyone deal drugs. I have never attended any "raves", though.
Ok, I looked for that quote, but couldn't find it. The quote was about downtown east side neighbourhood in Vancouver. Here is what wikipedia is saying about that place
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Eastside
"The Downtown Eastside has been pegged with the unfortunate distinction of having the highest rate of HIV infection in the Western world.

The southwest corner of Main and Hastings Streets continues to be a problem as drug sellers and users frequently occupy the corner, establishing a plein air drug market in front of (and in the alleys surrounding) Carnegie Hall. Recent efforts have attempted to increase police presence at the Main and Hastings intersection, but this has been opposed by the some residents.

Used syringes and condoms on neighborhood sidewalks are not uncommon, however United We Can, a charity organization offers local people jobs cleaning up the streets each morning. Graffiti is prevalent throughout, and most DTES alleys are regularly used as makeshift toilet facilities. The area is noted for high incidences of poverty, drug addiction, violent crime, and prostitution, as well as an ongoing tradition of community activism."
And despite all of this, I still think that B.C. rocks.
