If you ever fly from Toronto to Montreal, make sure to get a window seat. As the plane is descending, it usually flies parallel to St. Lawrence river, and one gets awesome views of Montreal.

If you fly into Vancouver, I would recommend you to also have a window seat. The views are better on the right side of the plane (the right side when one is facing the front [sometimes this side is called the "port" side; the other side is called the "starboard" side]).

For what I know, if you're aboard a plane/ship, and you're facing the head, the right side is the starboard, and the left one is the port (larboard).

Самый прикол, что после летней поездки на Кавказ эти снимки не воспринимаются как снимки с борта самолёта. Там такой вид из "окна" палатки. Только без небоскрёбов. Завидуйте, люди. А ещё лучше - поезжайте в отпуск в горы. Не пожалеете. Ни разу!

In one of your previous posts, you said that Vancouver feels like a village, compared to Toronto. Do you still feel this way?

It takes about 20 minutes to drive North from the shore of Lake Ontario along Don Valley Parkway to Steeles avenue (i.e. to cross the city from South to North on the highway, going 110 km/hour). It takes about 30 minutes to cross Toronto from East to West along highway 401. Are these numbers good estimates?

I was under the impression that Vancouver is a lot smaller, as it takes a lot less time to cross it on the highway.

Both of these cities can't be compared to Moscow. What former USSR city Can Toronto be compared to?

Когда ехали ночью в род дом на Юниверсити доехали из Авроры за сорок минут. Днем от Лайк-Шора до Стилс и за сорок не доедешь.
С каждым годом все хуже и хуже.
В Ванкувере аэропорт гораздо ближе по ощущениям если из доунтауна ехать. Пару закоулков и там. А в Пирсон надо жать по Гарденеру и по 427. И закоулками долго объезжать.
