У JT дабл, продолжает глючить

Один раз отправляйте, чего бы вам в ответ ни писали.
А я просто хотел внимание на новую статью обратить, раз рассылка не работает. И ещё, что очень здорово, что такие темы стали поднимать и что такие люди стали появляться на форуме. И ещё радует, что вот так - аккуратно, спокойно, вдумчиво. С параллельным обновлением контента на самом сайте. Ну, у нас руководство хвалить не принято

Всё, мол-чу...
А забавна сама обстановка. Как подпольщики. Вот глюкнуло чего-то и совсем другие ощущения. Прикольно...

Спасибо, TeploVsem, за добрые слова. Если говорить честно, то это вопрос как-то давно бегает по голове. Все не было повода его задать, а тут повод подвернулся. Кроме того, это немного не в тему, недавно встречал своих коллег из многих стран бывшего СССР (из Грузии, Таджикистана, Армении, Молдовы, Узбекистана) и те, кто летел на встручу через Москву, клялись на Коране,что больше через Москву ни ногой. А все из-за того, что по дороге из Шереметьево в Домодедово из тормозили на улицаз раз по 5-10 и просили показать регистрацию - мол, а у вас лице не белое, и, мягко говоря, не русское. Ну-ка, ну-ка, что у нас там? Думаю, что в Канаде нет такого отношения, а то мне было очень обидно слышать от людей такие истории, дошло до того, что ребята уже прошли в Домодедово паспортный контроль, таможню, прошли уже почти до самолета на посадку, а тут опять "Можно ваши документы, а то, э-э-э-э, у вас лица, какие-то желтые и узкоглазые".

It is called "racial profiling", and the police would be in a lot of trouble if someone could prove that they did it. So often, at airports, they don't search young Muslim men with Korans, and instead search Canadian old ladies in wheelchairs.

In Ontario, it does not happen.

If 5% [or 1/20th] of the population are Muslim, then they have to search 19 non-Muslims in order to be able to search one Muslim. They have to search randomly, or they are going to be accused of profiling.

The only way not to be accused of profiling (and be investigated by the Special Investigations Unit) is to do what I described above.

These restrictions Do result in all kinds of people being searched:

If the fraction is substantially higher than 1/20th, then that is evidence that the officers are "picking" on Muslims. The people who monitor the officers would then ensure that the officers are in a lot of trouble.

The official policy in Canada is to ensure that profiling does not happen. Whenever a group is being checked out more often then it is represented in the population, it is being interpreted as evidence of profiling.
